Bravely Ask God For Courage

Right now I invite you into a BRAVE and BOLD In 2013
Today I had this moment.
I woke up and checked into Facebook as always and in my stream I see something my Pastor was talking about for a new fresh start in 2013.
Here’s the thing, running a biz can be draining.
I know, there is so much to do that it’s hard to keep your head straight right?
But I’d like to challenge you in this, “What is it about your biz that you absolutely get so excited about to work on the next morning?”
If you don’t know what it is, make sure you take a quick mental note the next time it happens. I believe that it’s the Holy Spirit waking you up and encouraging you in those moments.
Take heart, take a mental picture, make a note on paper, blog about it, keep an eye out for it.
That little pumping in your heart, that excitement that sets you up for an over-the-top kinda day.
What I relate it to is this…
Remember when you were 9 years old and it was the night before your FIRST day back to school?
The excitement of the new school supplies, the outfit you wanted to wear and already had laid out on your bed, the pens the paper, oh… the felts!
You know what I mean?
You didn’t know who was going to be in your class, you were anxious about who your teacher would be and always hoping for the “nice” one.
That was pure excitement, a child’s happiness, anxiousness of the unknown and excitement to see your friends and start NEW and fresh.
Try to capture that moment.
Close your eyes right now, remember how you had your lunch pre-made, imagine it. You called all your friends the night before to talk about what teacher you may have and who is going to walk to school together.
Oh and the new shoes you chose precisely to go with your outfit for the day.
Always a dress right?
You got dressed up the BEST you could because it was a NEW & FRESH start in your little beautiful life.
Walking to school smelling the cool fresh air, the excitement of that moment.
Running up to your little friends or maybe you were standing by the door nervous to talk to anyone.
Anxious yet excited for the unknown.
What about your business makes you feel like this? Take note.
Today I had this moment.

This stirred my soul to read this and I hope it stirs you today too.
I share with you my own BRAVE moment.
I took this picture walking the Seawall here in Vancouver, BC — at almost night.
By the end of the path it was pitch dark and we had to walk back to the car through the park, through the trees in the dark.
I don’t mind going out at night, not at all.
But to be in the park at night walking a path, in the dark right near the ocean. To me that was brave.
Be sure to ask God to show you this in your business today.
Be brave!

Here’s my hope for you, for me, as we are perched on the beginning of a brandnew year:
That instead of wandering around in the wilderness this new year, wondering what might be on the other side, sure we’ll never get there, that we would be women of great courage who are willing to listen to the deep callings of our heart and be brave enough to try them in 2013.
We might fail. Let’s be brave and try anyway.
We might not have the support or encouragement we’d hoped for.
Let’s be brave and move toward it anyway.
We might not have the resources for everything to look exactly like we want it to from the start.
Let’s be brave and start anyway.
We might not have it all planned out and wrapped up in a tidy bow before we start.
Let’s be brave and take the next baby step anyway.
We might not feel brave enough or strong enough or smart enough or equipped enough. But let’s do it anyway.
Let’s do it anyway.
A beautiful, messy, scary and brave year awaits all of us, dear SheLoves friends. Let’s not waste it only dreaming about what could be. Let’s bravely ask God for courage and actually make some of these dreams come alive.
When you change your thought life and you lay out your dreams before God and ask Him for direction He will show you the way. It will be scary to even ask Him to help you but remember He created YOU and knows what YOU were created for.
